This is HUGE!

Make sure when you are filling out your “info” that you put all your contact information, address, email, phone, tin can and string extension! How ever you want to be contacted…put that information in there.  A business page without an address, or something to contact you to buy your product is a waste of time.

Make sure I can get ahold of you!

Folks tend to be afraid to say anything other than what they think they “should” say.

I don’t want to sound stupid
I don’t care what others are doing
I don’t care what others are eating
I don’t care that you get lost
I don’t care !

Let me tell you this….. If you don’t care about me and my business, why the hell should I care about you and yours?!

Take the time to get to know your fan base.  They are your customers or potential customers.  Care that they need help getting the word out about something.  Care that they had a piece of chocolate from  your competitor!  Care that they finally went out and enjoyed an evening away from work.  Care that they took their kids to the park.

Pay attention to what is being said……

Be helpful

Learn why your fan went to a competitor.  Maybe they had something you didn’t.

Be happy for the hard worker who is finally taking time for herself.

Kids! You may not care that they went to the park, but if you are a real estate agent, you now know they have “x” number of kids and like to go to a park.

Pay attention.

Here is something else.  Folks are nosy! Plain and simple.  We like to see what is going on in others lives.

So….let them see behind the scenes.  Give them something common between you for them to connect to.  You might think its unimportant, useless information, but it’s what folks want to see.

Here is a perfect example…

A simple boring post about my  new tea/coffee station in my office.  Picked up 10 comments and over 1200 impressions!!

Compared to informational posts about facebook…..

which only picked up 407 impressions.

It’s not all lost.  Folks still come to your pages for your info.  But it becomes a destination when they need your content.

So…share, get to know your fan base, educate them and most of all Have FUN!!

Following closely behind yesterday’s post.

One of the single most important things you can do on your fan page is to be present.

Did someone ask a question 4 days ago and you are just getting to it now?  Unless you are on vacation, there is no excuse for leaving your clients on hold that long.

Think about that…..

I post a question today.

You answer on Saturday.

By Saturday I’ve either lost interest or I’m unimpressed with your company/brand.

It’s all about customer service.  Would you leave a customer standing at your counter for 4 days while you go about your business?  Would you put them on hold for 4 hours before finding out what they need?

The care and keeping of our customers is extremely important.  Especially when they can click their mouse and move on.

Be Present.

Get yourself set up to succeed!

Keeping track of what is being said on your fan page is critical!  There may be requests for information, comments about your product or customer service issues that you will want to take care of immediately.

How to do that without being online 24-7

This fantastic free app can be found at HyperAlerts.no

Just sign up, grant access to your account, then add the fan pages you’d like to keep track of that you are an admin for.

Now….here is another use for this!  If you like following specific pages you can add their url into the alerts and stay updated on what they are saying.

Want to keep track of your competitors?  Plunk their url in there as well and you can keep track of everything they are saying as well.

It is a very powerful tool that helps you stay connected with your fans!
